Bachmann 08 Laserglaze EEFG0802
Today we are pleased to announce the release of the 4mm scale Laserglaze window kit for the Bachmann 08. This has taken a little while to tool up as we have found that there are two different sizes for the cab front windows, i.e. those facing the bonnet. To over come this we have provided both sizes on the fret. Currently this kit will provide glasing for one locomotive with the large droplight cab side window, and rounded corner door windows, so these suit the later build batches of the 08′s. We are anticipating tooling the small cabside window with square corner door windows in the near future. These variations will be added to the fret once tooled.

Today we’re pleased to show some of our recent etches in our nameplates and depot plaques range. These are all measured from the actual locomotive nameplates themselves as we pride ourselves in ensuring the products we sell are of the highest quality.

7mm, 4mm, 2mm Northern Belle Nameplates
Both Pullman liveried class 47′s, Solway Princess and Galloway Princess are available ex stock across the 7mm, 4mm, and 2mm scales, and are some of our best nameplates yet. The full color crests on these plates are decals, which give a superb rendition of these unique nameplates.

7mm, 4mm Fragonset Plaques
Next up is the iconic Fragonset Dragon available in both 7mm and 4mm scale, really showing the quality achieveable with our stainless steel etches.

7mm Crewe Depot Plaque
We’ve also just finished the complete range of depot plaques in 7mm scale. Whichever depot you wish to represent on your locomotive in either 7mm or 4mm scale, we are able to supply suitable plaques from stock. Like our nameplates above, these too have been measured from the actual depot plaques to ensure the accuracy and authenticity we strive for.
Laserglaze
We continue development in our laserglaze range. This week we have completed the tooling for the Hornby 08/09 replacement glazing, which covers the early and late cab door variants. The later door having rounded corners to the window frames. These are ex-stock and are on the stand at Warley. In development tooling are the replacement cab windows for the Bachmann 08/09 which we hope to release in the run up to the christmas period.
Don’t forget our ‘Heritage’ laserglaze range, which covers the Bachmann high and low cab GWR pannier tanks, and our most recent releases of brake van glazing for the Bachmann GWR Toad and the Hornby LMS/BR 20T brake van. Development is underway in the Heritage range of other coaching and parcels stock, and we will post updates here in due course.
Finally this weekend is the Warley show at the NEC and we are there, stand C12. Please come and say hello, we hope to meet both new and existing customers over the weekend.
Cheers
Brian Hanson

Extreme N Gauge / 2mm scale components
First and foremost thank you to our customers who visited the stand at Scaleforum, we were pleased to meet you, and hope you enjoyed the show.
After a test etch and practicality trials we are happy to add to the Extreme Etchings range some new products for 2mm/N gauge scale customers. The following items are designed to fit the latest Bachmann Graham Farish Class 37 locomotive.
EEDP2-37-00 Class 37 Roof Fan Grille Price Code F
EEDP2-37-09 Class 37 Radiator Grille Price Code F
EEDP2-37-12(B) Class 37 Etched Window Surround £3.50
EEDP2-37-50-55 Etched Brake levers (bogie) suitable for Class 37/50/55
These items may well fit the previous Class 37 model by Graham Farish and the current Class 40, but we have not done any test fitting to those particular models. If you try them for either of those two models please let us know how you get on.
Class 24 and Class 121
Further 2mm/N gauge products soon to go into development are roof and fan grilles for the Bachmann Graham Farish Class 24, we are also investigating producing an etch for the roof to correct the panel lines. The windows may be suitable for laserglazing, this will be assessed for practicality in due course. If the Class 24 proves practical, then the Dapol Class 121 DMU will also be considered for producing a laserglaze replacement glazing kit. Release dates are yet to be programmed for the Class 24 or Class 121, and will be subject to suitable test results.
Heritage Range Developments
In test at the moment are two of the popular ready to run 4mm brake van models. Neither the Bachmann GWR/WR Toad (previously Mainline) or the Hornby LMS 20t brake van (Previously Airfix and Dapol) have ever been supplied with glazing. We’ve done our first test cuts and are working on them in anticipation of release in time for the Peterborough show in mid October.
This weekend we are at the Manchester show, see the diary for details and we look forward to seeing you there.

Hi, just a quick note to let our customers know that we have now been able to resolve our internet access problems and apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. We do however have a backlog of emails that we are working through, on regaining access we had approximately 1,000 to work through which we are doing together with the day to day running of the business. We anticipate being fully up to date within a week.
It’s Model Rail Live at Barrow Hill this coming weekend, and we hope to have some new products to announce later this week, so please have another look here on the run up to the weekend.
Again many thanks for bearing us with this short disruption, and we look forward to seeing you at Barrow Hill!
Cheers
Brian

Summer Holidays
Please note we are away on annual holiday from Monday 29th August until 6th September.
Internet ‘Service’ Providors

A 'bug' in the system
Just a quick update, some of our customers may have noticed we’ve had broadband problems limiting connectivity over the last couple of weeks. We are in robust discussion with our service providors at this time, about a bug in their system which has caused us major inconvenience. We’d also like to take the opportunity to thank our customers and suppliers for bearing with us through this period.
Again our apologies for any inconvenience and if you’ve been trying to contact us or awaiting a response, we didn’t want anyone worrying unnecessarily.
See you soon for the second half of the season!
Cheers
Brian
