Railex Aylesbury 2013

This weekend we are at Railex in Aylesbury, and are pleased to announce some new items.
Following on from our last entry we have included some new laserglaze products and there are also new releases in our extreme etchings range. The images below shows our components used on a Hornby Railroad class 40, they include laser cut windows, etched headcode surround, frost grills, roof fan and grill and front cab window surrounds. What a difference it makes!

On to our new releases,

EELG4023A Lima Class 117 DMS Extra windows conversion pack. Price Code G
This allows a modeller to converting an unpowered DMB to a DMS to reflect the normal DMU three car unit configuration using Lima components. This kit covers the extra windows required.

EELG4030 Airfix/Dapol LMS Suburban 57′ All Third Price Code K
This kit contains sufficient windows to covert a lav composite to an all Third configuration

From our extreme etchings we are pleased to announce etches in 4mm and 2mm scales.

These are to scale and correctly profiled to give an accurate shape to the cabside windows on any 4mm scale Class 47.

Derby, DMU’s and Roaring Forties

9th May

This weekend we are at the Derby show with four new releases in the Laserglaze range. We have recently added three of the popular DMU’s which we are asked for.

Each pack has sufficient glazing for one vehicle, based upon the original releases. The Class 117 DMU was released with brake compartments in both vehicles and the packs reflect that, rather than a corrected trailer car. The Class 121 Rail Car has been tooled specifically for the original Lima moulding which is now in the Hornby range. If you’ve done a cut and shut using the 117 unit then order 117 unit kits as the glazing apertures are different dimensions.

EEFG4001 Hornby RailRoad / Lima Class 40

Some customers have been giving the old Lima Class 40 (now Hornby Railroad) a makeover and swapping it onto Bachmann Chassis’. This can give a pleasing result as can a full makeover of the Railroad or Lima model by itself. To help those modellers we’ve added a laserglaze kit to the range which covers the side cab and body windows.

We have decided not to do the cab front windscreens for this model as they are of such poor shape, however an easy conversion for the front windows can be achieved using our class 37 standard window pack EEFG37-12a which are shown on the image above.

Heljan 47 Bound for Roy Jackson’s ‘Retford’ in EM

This weekend we are attending the York Model Railway Show for the first time as a trader, so drop by and say hello. The pictures today show an EM gauge Class 47 that has had a makeover and is part of the fleet of locomotives that runs on Roy Jackson’s ‘Retford’ layout. Previously we have shown the Laserglaze kits and Extreme Etchings fitted to Bachmann and ViTrains models, the base locomotive here is the Heljan model, so you can see how the appearance is markedly improved with the addition of the glazing and fan and grill sets. We’ve also added the Brush Works plates from our range. This depicts an early series locomotive and reference images were provided showing the locomotive working southbound through Retford in the early 1960’s. All the components are available from our stand at York to carry out this, and similar conversions, so come and see what we have to offer.

26th January 2013 (Pontefract Cancellation)

With this picture we should probably be wishing you all a happy christmas! This was taken last night and the snow continued through to the early hours of the morning. Despite being up early and clearing out to our road it was clear that the main roads nearby were also snowbound and it would be very difficult and potentially hazardous to try to get to the show. Unfortunately this meant we missed our second show this year, last weekend we were booked for the Leamington show and this weekend we were anticipating being at Pontefract. Not so much a case of lightening striking twice, but snow!

Clearly this is a big disappointment for us, as well as show organisers and those of you whom were hoping to come and see us, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Our next show is at Stafford on the weekend of the 2nd/3rd February, and the blog exhibition diary page will be updated soon. We will update you soon on products in development, and thank you for your understanding during this period of particularly bad weather.

Wakefield December 1st/2nd 2012

This weekend we are at Wakefield and its the last show of the year. Last weekend at Warley it was great to meet so many of our customers both old and new, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The recent updates have featured some of our recent laserglaze releases and for a chnage today we’re showing a test fitting of the Class 47 fan and grill set from our extreme etchings range, to a Heljan 4mm scale model.
